DesktopLyrics Python Transformation Scripts:

The "lyrics transformation" feature allows you to define a "Python" script to arbitrarily transform the displayed lyrics, e.g. to cleanup, prettify, translate them or even to obtain them in case they are missing.

This page lists some example scripts you could use.

Translate lyrics to another language:

Adds a translation of foreign-language lyrics into your native language.
WARNING: you need to make sure you comply with Google Translate's Terms of Service if you use this script.

Fetch missing lyrics:

A script could possibly even fetch lyrics from the internet in case they are not provided by iTunes.
WARNING: depending on the legal situation in your country you might have to have both written permission by the copyright holders of your music as well as the site where the script obtains lyrics to legally use such a script.
Script Download: We do not provide such a script, but google might help find you such a script.

Remove empty lines:

Removes completely empty lines from the lyrics, making it more likely that the lyrics fit on your screen at once.
Script Download: The script is already built-in to DesktopLyrics, just choose it from the presets menu.

Replace duplicate lines:

Removes similar consecutive lines and replaces it with a single version of the line and the number of times it appeared.
Script Download: The script is already built-in to DesktopLyrics, just choose it from the presets menu.

Replace four-letter words:

Replaces all occurrences of possibly-offensive four-letter words with innocent '****'.
Script Download: The script is already built-in to DesktopLyrics, just choose it from the presets menu.
