CoreBreach drops in price and plans to go open-source
06.06.2012
Good news, everyone! Everyones favorite 3D space racing game CoreBreach changes its price from 6.99$ to a much more competitive 4.99$. The change has occurred on the Mac App Store a few weeks back, and will also come into effect for the other online stores over the next few hours.
Even more importantly, the decision has been made to "open source" the source of CoreBreach once the sales cover our costs. Putting CoreBreach under a "open source" license will allow for some interesting possibilities:
• anyone can modify the game e.g. to implement game play modifications or new game modes
• the game can enter the packaging mechanisms of open source operating systems like Linux or BSD
• build new games on the same 3D engine CoreBreach uses ("Core3D") which is optimized for all major desktop operating systems as well as iOS devices like the iPhone
More details and the answers to all of your questions are in the CoreBreach Open-Source F.A.Q. If you got some more questions or feedback fire away at <feedback@corecode.io>
If CoreBreach sales exceed the development costs, the game and its engine will go open-source. More than 20 thousand lines Objective-C code and an interesting, advanced 3D engine are just waiting to be unleashed unto the open-source community.
